Sanchez told that she aspired to become a flight attendant at the age of 18 befire finding journalism..
Sanchez is Emmy award winning journalist and helicopter pilot..
She opened up with WSJ Magazine in a recent interview that when she was 18, she wqnts to become a flight attendant. But however her dreams were dashed then, she saud she failed a mandatory weight in for a position with southwest Airlines in 1989..
She added “Back then they weighed you and i weighed 121 pounds, they said you need to be 115″. But then i noted that if i had to do it all over again i would say, ” I do not want to be a stewardess. I want to be the pilot!”
After southwest’s current flight attendant careers page states that for prospective candidates, weight must be of such proportion to height that a neat appearance is maintained and the physical ability to perform all job functions is not hindered. It too notes potential flight attendants need to be at least 20 years old, to maintain a well groomed appearance and be able to lift atleast 50 lbs to shoulder height among other physical qualifications..

Lauren became a reporter, working on air at KTVK in phoenjx, Ariz and then at Fox Sports, Extra and Good Day L.A. But she eventually felt ed back to flying as both her parents had been pilots and signed up for classes at an L.A. flight school to get her halicopter pilot’s License….
Lauren shared with WSJ that she tries to fly at last three times per week to stay up to date, and often shuttles both her and Jeff Bezon’s family..
She said ” i do not know why more women do nof do it , women find out what she does, they are often shocked. They are like, what?? You are such a bada!!” And i want to say it is really not that hard. I want more women to get i vved in it for sure…she is hoping to fly somewhere a little higher..
She shared with publication that she will be on an upcoming Blue origin trip to space with an all female crew of women who are making a difference in the world and who are impactful and have a massage to send..
She continued ” i am super excited about it, and a little nervous tooo.. I have wanted to be in the rocket from the jump, so my man is excited to make this happen with all of these women around..”
She added “Though he is very encouraging and chearfull and he is thrilled we are puttinh this group together”..
But she also said Bezons won’t be going as much as he wants to go on this flight, i am going to have to hold him back..
She concluded ” He will be cheering us all on from the sidelimes around there”…
