It is belived that he is the head of the Sicilian Cosa Nostra and respomsible for multiple murders including the infamous 1992 murders of anti-mafia prosecutors Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, reported the washington post after arresting.
It is also believe by italian authorities that he was behind a string if fatal 1993 Bomb attacks jn Milan, Florence and Rome, and many more.
Italian PM Giorgia Meloni posted on Twitter that ” A great victory for the state which demonstrates that it does not gibe up in the face of the mafias,” she added ” Another head of organized crime, Matteo Messina Denaro is brought to justice.”
